LUMAJANG, METROSURYA- The Lumajang Police Traffic Unit is actively educating students about the importance of orderly traffic through the Police Goes To School program.

This time it was SMKN 1 Lumajang's turn to be visited by members of the Lumajang Police Traffic Unit to be given education on driving rules and ethics.

This activity was carried out within the framework of Operation Patuh Semeru 2024 which was held for 14 days, from 15 to 28 July 2024.

Head of the Traffic Security Unit of the Lumajang Police, Ipda Suheri, SH, emphasized several important things to the students, such as the prohibition on going against the flow of traffic, the obligation to wear SNI helmets, the prohibition on riding with more than one person, the prohibition on exceeding the speed limit, and the prohibition on using a cellphone while driving.

"We also ask students not to drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol, not to use exhaust pipes, and minors are prohibited from driving vehicles," he stressed, Tuesday (16/7).

Meanwhile, Head of Traffic Police of Lumajang Police, AKP Suwarno, explained that the Police Goes To School program aims to equip students with knowledge about good and correct traffic regulations and procedures.

"This socialization is carried out to foster understanding and awareness among students or teachers to be disciplined and orderly in traffic, in the context of Kamseltibcar Lantas in the jurisdiction of the Lumajang Police," said AKP Suwarno.

The Police Goes To School program is one of the efforts of the Lumajang Police Traffic Unit to create a conducive Kamseltibcar Lantas and reduce the number of traffic accidents among students. (Dex)
